A New Favorite Dish Crowned in Nashville
Never have I ever... dedicated a single blog post to a single dish at a single restaurant. Well folks, that is changing - right now! I just woke up on this lovely (gloomy) cool Saturday morning and I'm cannot stop dreaming about my perfect dinner last night!
What was this glorious entree, you ask?
Well, let me tell you about the locale first: East Nashville's The Silly Goose --to me, one of the more underrated restaurants in our lovely town. This place has been located at the top of my 'favorites' list since the first time I set foot in the space several years ago and sank my teeth into the Bird with a 'little bit of both' (which, is still my #1 Sandwich in all of Nashville), and is not moving from that list anytime soon. What I especially love about the Goose (beyond the great service, rosemary lemonade, and fabulous space) is the quality level of food you receive, at the price point upon which it's delivered. Incredibly unique to Nashville.
Okay, so, what is this dish that in my humble opinion deserves such grand accolade? The Big Pink. Cast iron flank steak, whipped sweet, potatoes, oyster mushrooms, oregano & parsley chimmichurri, gorgonzola, lemon crumbs, madiera demi. I'm literally salivating whilst typing out the description because ya'll, it is truly one of the most unbelievable combination of flavors I've ever experienced. The savory steak cooked-to-perfection, with the combination of whipped sweet potatoes among the array of spices, lemon, and gorgonzola is divinity beyond words.
That said - go to the Silly Goose now. Order this entree. Thank me later.
