Cheap Date Night in Nashville
Everyone loves a special night with their significant other, bestie, or soul mate (or all of the above) - but, this special night out doesn't necessarily need to break the bank. Below, I present to you my best effort for a budget-friendly and fabulous night out in Nashville. Why, you ask, do most of these establishments make the cut? A combination of specials, BYOB options, creative factor, and overall cheapness round out my overall criteria.
Mas Tacos Por Favor
Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday, this gem of a restaurant is open until 8pm - allowing you plenty of time to grab dinner with your loved one(s). BYOB (free) makes drinks happen on-the-cheap. Must try: Chicken Tortilla Soup, fresh Guac, and Fried Sweet Cream Plantains. Note, Mas Tacos is cash only.
732 Mcferrin Avenue, Nashville, TN 37206
Another BYOB option ($10 for wine - free beer/liquor) - Silly Goose is one of the priciest places on the list, but I couldn't not include them as I'm beyond enamored by their overall value. Chef Roderick Bailey offers some of the most sophisticated, high-quality dishes at one of Nashville's lowest price points for fine cuisine. Ask for their not-so-secret sandwich and salad menu at dinner if you're looking for even more cost-effective options. Must try: King Kong, The Bird, Pack Mule, Hustler, and Big Pink.
1888 Eastland Ave, Nashville, TN 37206
Yet ANOTHER BYOB spot, DeSano offers authentic Italian-style pizzas via imported ingredients and their hand-made wood burning ovens. The combination of DeSano's diverse pizza selection and the dough-makers will undoubtedly impress your date. Must try: Capricciosa and Lasagna Pizzas, Cannoli for dessert.
115 16th Ave S, Nashville, TN 37203
Sometimes you need a cheap burger and a beer. Classy? Meh, not really. Trendy - at Dino's, absolutely. Grab a couple (delicious) burgers, fries, and a cold one and get out of the place for around $20. Not so bad for a night out, eh?
411 Gallatin Ave, Nashville, TN 37206
Next door to Dino's you'll find my favorite watering hole in all of Nashville (and chances are, you'll find me too). From 4-7, you can partake in their happy hour and have one hell of a night. Go for a 2-4-1 Four Roses + house-made ginger ale, or Rum + house-made cola, and you'll only be paying $3.50/drink. Must try food-wise: Pommes Frites (served with the most ridiculous ketchup ever), and the 308 Silders.
407 Gallatin Ave, Nashville, TN 37206
Want to really blow date night out of the water? Swing by Lazzaroli Pasta in Germantown and pick up the ingredients for a sure-to-please dinner at home. Fresh pastas are made daily, and pair perfectly with their made-from-scratch sauces and a baguette. Not so much into cooking? You can also pick up a take and bake lasagna and have plenty left over for leftovers. Must try: Chicken and Gouda Ravioli, Lobster and Shrimp Ravioli, and really, anything they sell.
1314 5th Ave N #100, Nashville, TN 37208
Couple any of the above with a fine wine from Woodland Wine Merchant (be sure to ask for Brandon, he'll guide you to your most budget-friendly choice appropriate for your meal), and perhaps head over to Titans stadium parking lot on the East side to take a stroll across the pedestrian bridge for an unbeatable view of our beloved city.
Voila - a perfect (cheap) date night.
