Pastaria Nashville is Now Open

Looking for fabulous, authentic Italian food in Nashville? It’s here! Pastaria, a casual-Italian concept, opened its doors last night in the new One C1ty development in the West End neighborhood near Centennial Park. The first restaurant for James Beard award-winning chef Gerard Craft outside St. Louis, Pastaria Nashville joins his group of Sardella, Pastaria, Porano Pasta, Brasserie, and Taste Bar restaurants.

Pastaria draws inspiration from the pasta factories and osterias of Chef Craft’s travels to Italy – and it shows. For me, it’s the Italian restaurant I’ve been waiting for in Nashville: featuring a menu of fabulous appetizers (do NOT miss the crispy risotto balls: mozzarella, Grana Padano, herb aioli, marinara), salads (must try the endive + arugula: cherries, pistachios, goat cheese, cilantro, bread crumbs, white wine vinaigrette), house-made organic pastas (the Garganelli was a standout), Neapolitan-style pizzas, wood-oven entrees, and killer gelato with inventive flavors (try burnt toast, malted banana, coffee cookies ‘n cream). Pastaria focuses on the simplicity and quality of great Italian food – especially in the in the pasta dishes. After spending two weeks in Italy last fall, I’ve been longing for this type of fare here in town – and couldn’t be more excited its here.

Chef Craft explains it best, “I always say that Pastaria belongs to the people who showed us around Italy, and the people who invited us into their kitchens and homes. The menu at Pastaria tells their stories, but now, it also shares the memories of our amazing St. Louis guests over the past five years. Our Nashville guests will be the next chapter in that storyline. Pastaria is a place where you come in with your family, a group of friends, or a date and enjoy an amazing meal at an affordable price."

LOVING it y'all. And, you will too.
